Welcome To The Kushoom Koly Restaurant. Eat, Drink, Relax And Enjoy.........As Many Have Done For Over 40 years!
The Kushoom Koly has enjoyed success as the oldest and most popular Indian restaurant in Stockport and in the south of Manchester since it's opening way back in 1971 by Nasir Uddin.
After working as a chef in the merchant navy and in New York during the 1950's Nasir decided to settle down in Manchester. He soon became the head chef in one of the earliest indian restaurants in the UK namely "The Bombay" on upper brook street Manchester.
The same recipes were then used by the "Manzil" in the 1960's probably the best and busiest Indian restaurant in Manchester at the time, who themselves went on to produce the first tinned curry pastes in the country.
Following the success of the first restaurant Nasir bought in 1963 "The Takhdir" (Levenshulme) he felt that the curry lovers of Stockport needed a decent "Curry House" of their own. He then found in 1971, the perfect little place in Heaton Moor. One of the first restaurants to have Tandoori and Tika Massalla on the menu (and the best tasting steaks in greater Manchester) it quickly became the place to be!
"and the best tasting steaks in greater Manchester" it quickly became the place to be!
